Billion-dollar pumped storage project considered for Kentucky, US

A Gridflex Energy spokesperson confirmed the company has made application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to conduct a feasibility study to build the storage system.

Plans suggest it would consist of two reservoirs, for the purpose of large scale energy storage on a 400 acre site in Mason County, Kentucky, with an estimated average annual generation of the project would be 2,190,000 megawatt-hours.
