In a week that sees Chinese authorities making noises on tackling the country’s dire air pollution problem comes the news that Hong Kong is taking a tentative step in the right direction. And it comes as no surprise that BYD is the company supplying the metropolis’s first electric bus to the Kowloon Motor Bus company.

Just one electric bus may seem highly unimpressive, particularly given the fact that it was actually purchased a year ago, according to a report in Earthtechling. The good news, however, is that another 36 vehicles may soon be trialled in the city… although from where we are sitting it looks like yet another case of too little, too late.
