Tesla Motors could be planning the launch of not one but two four-wheel drive electric vehicles next year, according to The Verge.

Citing ‘sources familiar with the situation’, the story claims Elon Musk’s car outfit is readying a four-by-four version of its Model S sedan in addition to an already-announced Model X sports utility vehicle.

The news follows figures from the Electrification Coalition last month that show the Model S taking an 8% stake in the luxury car market in the first half of 2013.
